EASD Parent Connections is seeking Volunteers for the inaugural Elkhorn Young Athletes Program! Young Athletes is an 8-session program that provides a chance for children (ages 2 to 7 years old) with and without special needs to come together and work on pre-sport skills like jumping, balancing, throwing, and catching. Volunteers (Middle Schoolers with a guardian, High Schoolers, and Adults) will help run our games and serve as ambassadors for the Young Athletes Program. Volunteers can sign up for as many or as few sessions as they’d like. Have a club or a group of friends looking to get involved? Sign up as a volunteer organization. On December 10th, the Elkhorn Esports teams went to Madison College to compete for a state championship. The Elkhorn Smash team was looking to win back to back championships this year. They were able to defeat Rural Virtual Academy to face Fort Atkinson in the final, a rematch of last year's championship. Unfortunately, Fort Atkinson was able to best the Elks and send us home as the Division 2 Runner-Up. The Elkhorn SMITE team rolled into the championship with an undefeated season and looked to make the perfect run. They were able to beat Black Hawk 2-0 and advance to the championship match against Random Lake. The team was able to take down the only other undefeated team in the tournament 2-0, giving them the schools first State Championship in SMITE.
