🧠EAHS DECA & HOSA invite you to the Memory Mile— a student-led 5K run and mile walk dedicated to raising awareness and funds for dementia!
📅The event will take place at EAHS on Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 AM, bringing together students, families, and community members for a morning focused on supporting those affected by dementia.
💜Along with the 5K and mile walk, the event will feature guest speakers and educational resources to help spread awareness and provide information about dementia and available support. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Dementia Society of America.

Meet Sam Ford, a senior at Elkhorn Area High School who has been selected for an incredible opportunity to travel to Europe with the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music! 🎶🌍
Music has been a major part of Sam’s life. Sam will serve as the 2026–27 EAHS Drum Major and has performed with the 2025 State Honors Band and at the 2025 Wisconsin State Music Conference. Sam also participates in Solo & Ensemble and every EAHS-sponsored band, while performing locally as a bassist with Vanilla on Vinyl and the Rock Central Showrockers.
This once-in-a-lifetime experience will allow Sam to represent Elkhorn and Wisconsin on an international stage, using music to build connections and understanding across cultures.
The trip costs approximately $9,700, and Sam is working hard to raise the funds needed to make this opportunity possible. Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring Sam one step closer to this goal. Donations made to Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music Corp. on Sam’s behalf are tax-deductible and go directly toward the cost of the trip.

🌟 What you’ll do:
• Support students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in special and general education settings
• Work alongside teachers to help students learn, grow, and succeed
• Provide academic, behavioral, social, and physical support based on individual student needs
• Assist students individually and in small groups
• Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging school environment
🗓️ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 hours per day
🎓 Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Education or experience working with children is preferred, but not required
• Must be able to obtain Wisconsin DPI Licensure #883
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, confidentiality, and a commitment to helping students succeed
