Co-requisite per Semester: (Students should make every effort to be enrolled in a connected class each semester they are in the youth apprenticeship.) One trimester of a connecting course is required.

Intro to Woodworking, Principles of Woodworking, Intro to Building Construction, Fundamentals of Building Construction, Building Construction, Civil Engineering & Architecture

Course Description:  The architecture and construction youth apprenticeship provides on-the-job training for careers in designing, planning, managing, building and maintaining the building environment. Potential career opportunities students can train for in this apprenticeship include: Architectural & Civil Drafter, Environmental Designer, Heating Ventilation & Air Condition (HVAC) Tech, Residential or Commercial Carpenter, Engineer, Electrician, Construction Worker, Sheet Metal Tech, Mason & Plumber. Students will not only obtain hands-on experience but will be better prepared for college and future career transitions.

Architecture/Construction youth apprentices will be required to complete a minimum of 450 work hours for a Level One (1-year) Architecture/Construction YA program or a minimum of 900 work hours for a Level Two (2-year) program. The student receives a state-issued skill certificate upon successful completion of the program.
Special Notes:  Students must apply to the program and meet academic and attendance requirements along with obtaining consent of CTE instructor. Also, students must furnish their own transportation plus proof of driver's license.
