Course Description: Career Exploration provides students with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of careers based on their interests, skills/aptitudes, and life values. Career research websites are  used by students extensively for research and storage of career information.

Students receive assistance in the job search process by working with the instructor and community professionals in preparation for the job interview. Applications are practiced and resumes are prepared. Students learn how to make themselves stand out from other applicants through their application, resume, and job interview.  They will have the opportunity to  experience a real job interview with community professionals and receive feedback from these professionals on how to improve their interview skills.

Throughout the semester, students work on numerous employability skills including attitude toward work and toward their colleagues, communication, problem solving, planning and organizing, dependability and reliability, accepting constructive criticism and learning from it, developing professional mannerisms and more.

Special Notes: This course is a requirement for any work-based learning program, including co-ops and apprenticeships.
